give us your tired, your poor...

...your Cinderellas winning in OT with the fucking Statue of Liberty play on the 2-point conversion in the Fiesta Bowl.

As if giving up a lead and going behind on an OU pick for six in the fourth quarter wasn't enough, the Broncos had to not only come back, but score the OT TD on 4th and 2, then get the 2 point, and then running back Ian Johnson proposes to his smoking hot head cheerleader girlfriend after the game.

That was as good a four-and-a-half hour stretch as last year's SC-Texas Rose Bowl, and I was trying to go to sleep between shifts at work -- I don't regret watching one bit.

Oh, and Fox's Chris Myers can go eat a dick -- NO WRECKING THE SURPRISE PROPOSAL, BITCH. What a lame move.

quick: name a better football game than this in the last, say, 20 years. go.

I'm trying to cut through the haze and dead brain cells of years of sports viewing. I remember my jaw dropping at Kordell Stewart throwing the Hail Mary against Michigan in '04; I've watched BC vs. Miami and other games on ESPN Classic, and of course, I mentioned Texas-SC last year.

But I honestly don't recall watching a better college football game in my years as a serious viewer. Here's the power of that game: one of my co-workers who NEVER understood football, college or pro, sat down with a friend and watched all the bowl games yesterday, and the first thing she talked to me about when she got in was how awesome the Fiesta Bowl was.

What did Chris Myers do? I, like an idiot, went to bed at about the middle of the 3rd quarter and missed the greatest game in the history of the universe. The worst part is that I didn't even get any sleep.

kaz - Ian Johnson converts the 2 point try to end the game, throws the ball into the stands, is going batshit nuts, and Myers gets him for the post-game interview. Before Myers finishes up, he says, "Oh, I guess you're going to go propose to your girlfriend now."
