Younger fans of the college football like yours truly can appreciate the numbers behind Eddie Robinson's life at Grambling (408 wins, 85% graduation rate, etc.), but speaking for myself, imagining what he went through in the Jim Crow-era South to lead those teams is something I'll never be able to conceive of when it comes to difficulty.
So, I leave the tributes and notes to my betters at Deadspin and EDSBS; meanwhile, this definitive analysis by D-Wil is a must read.
