Only a week or so after Arron Afflalo left UCLA for the draft, USC's Nick Young is bailing too, and Gabe Pruitt could follow him, making a cross-town hoops rivalry a bit less interesting. Sure, O.J. Mayo and Kevin Love will stoke plenty of interest in the battle between the schools, but each school has now lost a player that fills the same scorer role.
Is Young really first round material? Probably past the 15th pick. There's something to be said for being part of a team that got to the Sweet 16 without anyone expecting them to be there, and after the top seven or so (Oden, Durant, Horford, Green, Brewer, Noah, Hibbert, and Jeff Green), this draft isn't necessarily stacked. Young will probably go around the same time Afflalo does.
Speaking of Green and Hibbert, Green says he may be going back to G-Town -- he says it's a 70-30 chance that he'll withdraw from the draft; Hibbert puts his at 50-50.
