leave of absence.

If it weren't the NFL off season, it probably would be a tougher decision for Eagles coach Andy Reid, but due to the recent troubles facing his two sons (one of them adding heroin suspicions onto the rest of the accident stuff), he's taking a month off to deal with those troubles at home.

The AP claims the Eagles' team prez will talk about it this afternoon, and given the severity of some of the decisions in Eagles camp -- whether or not to keep Jeff Garcia, will Donovan McNabb's recovery have him ready in a decent amount of time (if you rush ACL recovery, you risk Culpepper-like results now), and Reid will miss the combine, most likely -- hopefully, there are truly capable people who can do that sort of assessment.
