If it's Super Bowl week in either Miami or New Orleans, it means some NFL player is likely to arouse some attention from the authorities, although usually it's someone who's actually playing in the game.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis gets to sweat another bullet though, as wideout Chad Johnson is only cooperating with Miami police in a murder investigation and is not a suspect or a person of interest. The AP says the PD isn't saying how or why Johnson might know something about the Friday death of Curtis Dopson, but it's not as if the Bengals needed any more attention in terms of extracurricular activities.
Apparently you can gamble on the odds of a Bengal getting arrested, and someone made serious bank when CB Johnathan Joseph got picked up on pot charges. Somewhere, somehow, another anonymous person on the eBays put money down on Ocho Cinco in the next arrest pool for Cincinnattica (TM Bill Simmons), and is saying, "Goddamnit, so close!"
No word on Carson Palmer's response yet.
